About the Festival
The Nicosia Book Fest was organized for the first time in June 2016 as an initiative of the Prometheus Research Institute with the full support of the Press and Information Office, the Youth Organization and the Municipality of Strovolos, while the last the support of the Cultural Services and other private initiatives is also important.
Our goals:
The promotion of the book to the Cypriot public, of all ages, to bring the readers together with the authors and the promotion of the works of Cypriot authors
Values of Nicosia Book Fest
Nicosia Book Fest follows the standards of similar open-air book festivals that host thousands of visitors each year, by creating a space for literary creation, expression, interaction and acquaintance of authors with the public, co-creation of culture, book reading, presentations, education, entertainment, music and theater of development is that it has established itself as the leading event around the book in Cyprus.
Prometheus Research Institute
The Prometheus Research Institute was founded in 2012 with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary research. The promotion, conduct and exploitation of systematic scientific research as a tool for critical analysis, dialogue and understanding of the political, social, economic and cultural environment, with the simultaneous submission of specific proposals and recommendations, are fundamental long-term goals of the Institute.
The Institute's research areas of concern include issues of society, culture, history, politics, economics, international relations, environment, youth, gender relations, mass media and European issues.
