Cuban writer Israel Dominguez Pérez talks about the challenges faced by the translator during the process of poetic translation.

Biography

Israel Domínguez Pérez 

(Placetas, Villa Clara, 1973)


Narrative editor and editor-in-chief of Ediciones Unión

Poet and translator. Member of UNEAC. He has received, among others, the following awards:

  • Calendario Prize (1999),
  • José Jacinto Milanés Prize (2000),
  • Dador Prize (2005),
  • Honorable mention in the Poetry Contest of La Gaceta de Cuba (2011).
  • Hojas de Cal (Casa Editora Abril, 2001),
  • Collage mientras avanza mi carro de equipaje (Ediciones Vigía, 2002),
  • Sobre un fondo de arena (Sur collection, 2004),
  • Después de acompañar a William Jones (Letras Cubanas, 2007), are part of his published poetry collections.

He has collaborated with reviews, poems, and translations in national magazines.

His works appear in various anthologies.
