Biography
Idiel Alberto García Romero Villa Clara (1980).
Poet, storyteller and Director of Editorial Capiro
Idiel García, Santo Domingo, Poet, storyteller and editor. He has published the poetry books Los días de mi muerte (Editorial Capiro, 2007), El jardín de las delicias (Ediciones Sed de Belleza, 2010), Cementerio de sombras (Editorial Capiro, 2013), Manual de las ilusiones (Editorial Capiro, 2015), which won the Premio Fundación de la Ciudad de Santa Clara in its XXVI Edición, 2014. El sueño de vivir, which won the CubaPoesía ‘Eduardo Kovalivker’ Prize 2017 (Colección SurEditores, 2018), Fuego griego (Editorial Capiro, 2019). The novels for young people Déborah y las abejas (Editorial Capiro, 2016); and No soy un héroe! (Ediciones Áncoras, 2016). The children's story Blanca y el amanecer (Ediciones La Luz, 2017). Perico y el misterio de la luna (Editorial Libros & Libros, 2020). His texts appear in the anthologies Faz de tierra conocida (Letras Cubanas, 2010), La calle de Rimbaud (Ediciones Aldabón, 2012), El árbol en la cumbre (Letras Cubanas, 2015), Estos poetas del milenio... He is a graduate of the Narrative Techniques Course at the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Literary Training Centre. Member of the UNEAC and the AHS. Former president of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS) in Villa Clara. Former director of Ediciones Sed de Belleza and currently directs Editorial Capiro.
